Kosovo’s judo team made a strong comeback at the Paris Grand Slam, securing three medals. After Akil Gjakova won silver and Distria Krasniqi claimed bronze, Nora Gjakova also earned a bronze medal, adding to Kosovo’s success.
The Kosovo Judo Federation praised Nora Gjakova’s outstanding performance, highlighting her victories over France’s Rania Drid, Croatia’s Iva Oberan, and Spain’s Cristina Cabana Perez, before defeating Joanne Van Lieshout from the Netherlands in the decisive match.
The Kosovo Olympic Committee had announced on January 31, 2025, that the Olympic judo team was returning to competition after six months. In addition to Akil and Nora Gjakova and Distria Krasniqi, Erza Muminoviq (-52 kg) and Dardan Cena also traveled to Paris to compete.
