Adri Mehmeti, a 15-year-old Albanian soccer talent, has officially signed with the first team of Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls. Mehmeti’s impressive journey began with the club’s second team, but his rapid development has earned him a contract extending through 2028, with an option for 2029.
The Red Bulls’ sporting director, Julian De Guzman, praised Mehmeti’s exceptional progress both on and off the field, emphasizing the team’s excitement to support his continued growth. Head coach Sandro Schwarz echoed this sentiment, highlighting Mehmeti’s standout performances and training contributions.
Born in Albania, Mehmeti previously represented Albania’s U-15 national team, scoring in a UEFA tournament in 2023. However, he has since switched to representing the U.S. on the international stage. With Jurgen Klopp set to oversee talent development for Red Bull’s global soccer operations in 2025, Mehmeti is now under the watchful eye of one of the world’s most respected football minds.
