Free Albanian Language Classes for Kids in Miami

Share

The Vatra Miami organization, through its “Flas Shqip” club, has launched a remarkable initiative to offer free Albanian language and cultural classes for Albanian children in Miami. This patriotic and educational endeavor aims to preserve the Albanian language and traditions within the community. Dr. Iris Halili, a key figure in this project, is praised for her dedication and efforts in promoting Albanian heritage among the youth.

Established as a non-profit organization in Florida on April 24, 2024, Klubi Flas Shqip has a clear mission: to keep the Albanian language and traditions alive among the Albanian community in South Florida and beyond. The club welcomes anyone interested in becoming a member and encourages parents to enroll their children in these free weekend classes. The vision of Klubi Flas Shqip is that no child of Albanian descent in South Florida should miss the opportunity to learn the beautiful Albanian language, ensuring that the customs and language of their ancestors are not forgotten.

The summer session kicked off on July 11, with children eagerly participating in the first class. Besides learning Albanian, the children also acquire various life skills, such as self-introduction and public speaking. The sight of a classroom filled with Albanian children learning their mother tongue brought immense joy to the organizers. Special thanks were given to volunteer teacher Liljana Rrumbullaku for her dedication in West Palm Beach. The club invites more volunteers from the South Florida Albanian community to join this noble mission.
