If you are looking for someone who is proof that dreams are not just dreams, you should meet Elona and Lediona Zharku. Two Albanian girls, who are only 23 years old, managed to open their shop at 10 Bedford Ave. Their dream to deal with fashion came to life after a long road filled with work and dedication.
Tired Thrift is the name of the business that the two young women started in 2019. The period in which they were living, where each country was facing the pandemic, was first of all an initiative for socialization, an initiative for the community. So Elona and Lediona managed to make it a combination between fun and the desire to find clothing at a reasonable price.
“With Tired Thrift, not only did we want it to be a place for people to find unique clothing, but also a place for people to come together and have fun. We have a large bench in the store and we encourage customers to sit and hang out” said the 23-year-old
At Tired Thrift people can find a place that brings them together for the same reason: the love of vintage clothing.
“Growing up thrift/vintage shopping in Brooklyn, we noticed that there was an unmet demand for trendy vintage, which we wanted to provide with Tired Thrift. Many of the brands and clothing styles we carry were only available online, on sites like Depop, so we wanted to curate a store that carried these exclusive online-only clothing pieces” the girls explain.
But how did the idea to open such a business come about and what was their goal?
“Growing up thrift/vintage shopping in Brooklyn, we noticed that there was an unmet demand for vintage in fashion that we wanted to fill with Tired Thrift. Many of the brands and styles of clothing we carry were only available online, on sites like Depop, so we wanted to curate a store that carried these exclusive clothes only online.”
Raised by Albanian parents who were entrepreneurs, Elona and Lediona had clear goals for the future.
“Growing up with immigrant entrepreneurial parents, we always knew that we wanted to start something for ourselves. Tired Thrift began in the spring of 2019 as a passion project.”
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you. https://accounts.binance.com/es/register-person?ref=WTOZ531Y
