The association “Uskana” in the United States of America has called for the Albanians who are in Chicago to attend the premiere of the movie “The Hero” on Sunday.
“The Hidai (Eddie) Bregu Albanian Studies Program, near DePaul University, invites you to attend the premiere of Luan Krzeziu’s film Hero”, the announcement states.
Also, before the premiere, a short documentary with the same motive will be broadcast.
“Our history is worth documenting, and we are very fortunate to have professionals in the film industry who carefully document the painful truths, both to not forget them and to prevent such pain in the future. Before the premiere of the film, we will have the opportunity to attend the premiere of the short documentary about Camp Uskana, which is brought by Edi Mehana, another good Albanian in the field of cinematography,” the announcement states.
Meanwhile, the film “The Hero” is dedicated to the last war in Kosovo.
“In the middle of the Kosovo war, a village is about to be surrounded by the enemy. A man saves the village with the help of two old warriors and holds the enemy at bay long enough for the villagers to escape safely. After the war, Hero’s relationship with his new place is not what one would expect from a war hero. He is slowly forgotten and marginalized in the new order that reigns into non-existence. The film examines the slow degradation of the Hero at the hands of the do-nothings and leaves the question of whether the viewer is watching an imagined life,” the description reads.
